COLUMBUS, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College will celebrate the graduation of 1,296 students in its Columbus service area at its 54th annual graduation ceremony Friday in the Columbus North High School gymnasium.The ceremony begins at 6 p.m.
This year, the Columbus service area will award more than 1,900 credentials, including 492 associate degrees, 748 technical certificates and 674 certificates. Programs that won the most degree programs include Business Administration, Healthcare Professions, Cybersecurity, Industrial Technology, and Indiana University Core. The Indiana College Core is a 30-credit hour general education block of college-level coursework that is guaranteed to transfer between all Indiana public colleges and universities. University.
Ivy Tech Columbus President Stephen Combs will preside over the graduation ceremony, which will be attended by Dr. Rebecca Lahrschulte, vice president for academic affairs and assistant to the provost, and other university officials to honor the graduates. Larschulte confers degrees and certificates.
Shelbyville alumnus Tatem Hodge will be the student speaker. Hodge holds an associate degree in agriculture and is recognized as an outstanding graduate of the agriculture program.
The degree of Associate Professor Emeritus will be awarded to Jim Roberts, Superintendent of Bartholomew Unified School Corporation and member of the Ivy Tech Columbus Campus Board of Directors.
