AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – Jader Obrian scored two goals, Sebastian Drussi added another and Austin FC defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-2 on Saturday night.

O’Brien’s second goal gave Austin (6-4-4) the lead in the 39th minute. Dani Pereira came close to the penalty spot and Obrian cut back past the defender and slid his shot past the post to make it 2-1.

Kansas City (2-6-5) has been winless in seven consecutive games since defeating Toronto FC 3-1 on March 30th. Sporting have conceded at least one goal in 10 consecutive games and have conceded multiple goals in eight of those games.

Jonny Russell ran in on a pass from Alan Pulido and side-footed his first goal of the season to give Sporting a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. The 34-year-old scored 57 regular-season goals for Kansas City, tied for second in club history with Dom Dwyer.

Melia tried to clear the ball, but Pereira stole it and O’Brian quickly finished from near the right corner of the six-yard box to make it 1-1 in the 29th.

Sébastien Drussi scored a goal early in the second half to make it 3-1, but 22-year-old Jake Davis scored his second MLS goal in the 63rd minute to level the score.

Kansas City had 54% possession and outscored Austin 17-12.

Brad Stuber made one save for Austin.

Tim Melia made four saves for Sporting.
