The polls held in the Jalandhar West Assembly by-election in Punjab reported a voter turnout of 54.9%, which is 12.81% lower than the voter turnout in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, where the voter turnout in this constituency was reported as 67.71%.
The by-election to Jalandhar West Assembly seat in Punjab was necessitated by the resignation of Ms Sheetal Angral. Jalandhar West 34 is a scheduled caste assembly seat in Jalandhar district and Doaba region of Punjab. The urban assembly seat is part of Jalandhar (Scheduled Caste) Assembly constituency 4 and by-elections were held on Wednesday 10 July 2024 along with 12 other seats in 7 states. Counting of votes is scheduled for Saturday 13 July 2024.
