Britain’s Jamie Chadwick will start from pole position for the IndyNXT race at Road America, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Mix from 6:05pm on Sunday.
Chadwick won her first pole position in IndyNXT, the feeder series to IndyCar, becoming just the third woman to accomplish the feat.
The 26-year-old placed third at Indianapolis in May, becoming the first woman to stand on the podium in IndyNXT.
She will be aiming for the top step on the podium in Sunday’s 20-lap race, which starts at 6:05 p.m. Sky Sports MixFor viewers with Skyboxes, Sky Sports Mix For free, you can watch the IndyCar race at Road America starting at 8:30pm on the same channel.
“I’m very happy, it was a bit of a struggle to find the balance this weekend. [team-mate) Louis [Foster] I knew it was going to be a good car because he did that lap,” Chadwick said.
“The track conditions are improving and this is an opportunity for our group. I was sure we could make the most of it. It will be a tough race but I am confident in our ability.”
Earlier this year, Chadwick also launched a new initiative to increase female participation in grassroots motorsport.
The three-time W Series champion is helping to partner with Daytona Motorsports to provide free karting and mentoring to women for a year.
She is the UK’s most decorated active female motorsport driver, having dominated the W Series for three years before moving to the fiercely competitive IndyNXT Series.
Chadwick is also part of the Williams Driver Academy and this season he is mentoring Williams’ F1 Head of Team Leah Block in the F1 Academy.
