Jerry Glasco has been busy putting together the inaugural roster for the Texas Tech softball team for the 2025 season.

Last week, Glasco welcomed six new players and three new members of his coaching staff, many of whom are familiar names to Glasco, including one coach who is his daughter.

Tara (Glasco) Archibald has been named the new associate head coach, the school announced Wednesday. Archibald served as the head coach at Eastern Illinois University for the past five years, where she led the Panthers to an Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title and won the OVC Coach of the Year award in 2024. The Panthers made their first appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2023.

Archibald previously served as an assistant coach with his father at Georgia State, helping the Bulldogs reach two Super Regional appearances.

Mihere Davis steps to bat during the University of Louisiana softball team's game against Baylor University during the NCAA regional tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana, Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The coaching staff also includes husband-and-wife duo Hunter Veach as assistant coach and Hunter Goldsmith-Veach as the program’s director of operations. The couple worked with Glasco at Louisiana last season and were married in December.

Beach will lead the defense. He and Goldsmith-Beach met while working at Texas A&M University.

Four of the transfer players have been announced as permanent deals, while the other two have announced they have signed contracts, though the deals had not been signed as of Friday morning.

There are several Louisiana players following Glasco’s lead, including last year’s Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, Mihere Davis, who was named a third-team All-American as a freshman in 2023 after stealing a nationally high 52 bases. A slap-hit specialist, Davis batted .419.

Joining Davis from Lafayette are pitcher Chloe Reassett, catcher Victoria Valdez and infielder Lauren Allred. Reassett went 15-4 with a 2.58 ERA last season, while Valdez batted .293 with nine home runs and 36 RBIs. Allred redshirted in 2024 but was an all-region selection in 2023 after batting .375 with 12 home runs and 47 RBIs.

Tech has not announced the signings of Allred or Valdez. The school has also secured commitments from two other players: utility player Alanna Johnson from Washington and outfielder Katie Lott from Oklahoma State.

Johnson led the Huskies with 13 home runs, 40 RBI and 97 bases last season for a career batting average of .301, while Lott batted .370 in 54 at-bats in 2023 and played limited time in 2024 with the Cowgirls, who reached the Women’s College World Series both years.

Davis, Johnson, Rearsett, Valdes and Lott will be juniors next season, but Allred should still be considered a sophomore.

Victoria Valdez is hit by a pitch during the University of Louisiana softball team's game against Baylor University in the NCAA Regional Tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana, Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Oklahoma State player Katie Lott (33) throws to second base after catching the ball for an out in the sixth inning during a college softball game between the Oklahoma State Cowgirls and the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State won the game, 3-0.
Lauren Allred steps to bat as Louisiana defeats the Omaha Mavericks, 5-0, in the opening game of the NCAA Regional Tournament at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Friday, May 19, 2023.
