LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum has inaugurated three digital systems for management of Punjab’s judicial system.

Addressing the ceremony, CJ Aalia Neelum said the traditional financial system is being replaced by modern technology for the first time in the 150-year history of the provincial judiciary. She said the primary goal of these systems is to minimise human intervention, eliminate the risk of fraud and restore public confidence in the judicial process.

According to a statement, the Civil Courts Accounts Management System introduces a shift in how judicial fees, fines, and payments are handled. To prevent forgery, the system is linked with the Case Management System and the National Bank of Pakistan. Challan forms will be generated automatically with a unique ID, ensuring that every payment is verifiable.

Judicial officers have been granted specific access to issue payment orders online, and future plans include integrating the system with the Accountant General’s Office to streamline financial verifications.

The Judicial Deposits and Securities Management System has been implemented to manage funds and securities deposited in banks following court orders. The system allows LHC branches to maintain record of individual and collective deposits. By automating the entries, the Banking and Funds Management Wing can now monitor accounts with greater accuracy.

The judiciary has also launched an Inventory Management System to digitise the management of assets and store supplies. This software tracks the lifecycle from the moment goods are received to their distribution across various offices. The system includes an automated alert to notify officials before items expire.
