Kamala Harris said she was proud of her track record as she ran against President Trump, recalling her time as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in California.
Wisconsin: US presidential candidate Kamala Harris kicked off her campaign in Wisconsin, saying the November election will be “a choice between freedom and chaos.” “In this campaign, I will proudly put my record against his,” Harris said, according to the Associated Press.

She added, “We believe in a future where everyone has the opportunity to not just survive, but thrive.”
Harris arrived in the Milwaukee area after securing the Democratic delegate endorsement after President Joe Biden dropped his reelection bid on Sunday. Notably, this is her first campaign rally since winning Biden’s endorsement and entering the race just two days ago.
“I’ve fought criminals of all kinds,” Harris said to hundreds of staffers at her campaign headquarters, as well as those joining online from battleground states, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. “Predators who abuse women, con artists who deceive consumers, con artists who break the rules for their own game. So I’d say I know what a guy like Donald Trump is like,” she said.
Kamala Harris said she would run against Trump “proud of” her record of success, referencing her time as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in California, CNN reported.
She said, “As a young prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in California, I specialized in sexual abuse cases. Donald Trump was convicted by a jury of sexual abuse. As California Attorney General, I took on one of the largest for-profit universities in the United States and put it out of business. Donald Trump ran a for-profit university, Trump University, and the university was forced to pay out $25 million to students it had defrauded.”
She also spoke about her record on climate change, Big Oil and Wall Street. She said her campaign is not just about taking on Republican candidates.
She added: “This campaign is much more than that. Our campaign has always been about two different versions of how we think about the future of our country. Two different visions of the future of our country. One focused on the future, one focused on the past.”
Kamala Harris has not been announced as the Democratic presidential candidate, but CNN reported that several Democrats supported her after US President Joe Biden endorsed her after listening to her speak to campaign staff.
