On Friday, the PTCL spokesperson denied there were any outages at all. “There wasn’t any issue at PTCL’s side.”

Meanwhile, Stormfiber’s automated call response said “we are experiencing a sudden degradation at one of our upstream [service providers],” and are “coordinating with the upstream provider” to fix these issues.

WhatsApp saw a peak of 120 reported outages, with 55% of users reporting problems with sending messages, 32% with server connectivity, and 13% with the application itself
On average, people’s complaints were regarding the websites, respective applications and server connectivity, but the majority of complaints centred around an inability to connect to the internet.
Asking some Stormfiber users, most of them said that they had “really poor internet” last night; however, one user didn’t see much change in their connection quality. For the most part, these issues only persisted until midnight, with people seeing a return to normal services as of this morning.
