Former light welterweight world champion Amir Khan is in talks to fight on the Misfits card, BBC Sport understands.
The 37-year-old Briton Khan has been rumored to be in talks to face YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI.
Misfits is an organization founded by KSI (30) and promotional partner Wasserman Boxing, and positions its product as sports entertainment.
Khan’s two-year doping ban, imposed following his fight against Kell Brook in February 2022, has expired.
Khan posted on social media that he was in negotiations with KSI and would then welcome a fight with YouTuber Jake Paul.
“Be careful what you wish for,” Khan told Paul and KSI at the X.
Misfits has played a key role in the rise of “crossover boxing”, in which social media stars and celebrities compete in boxing matches, but critics say the promotion, which also organises gimmicky tag-team matches, is undermining the integrity of the sport.
The organization has split with the Professional Boxing Association, so it is unclear which organization will oversee any Misfits cards that Khan may feature on.
Khan previously held a British Boxing Board of Control boxing licence and most of his fights were supervised by the governing body.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide William Olatunji, won his professional boxing debut against Logan Paul in 2019 but lost to Briton Tommy Fury in his second bout in 2023.
Khan, a 2004 Olympic silver medalist, retired in May 2022 with a 34-6 record.
He tested positive for ostarine in a UK Anti-Doping test on February 19, 2022, the night of his loss to Brook.
Khan acknowledged breaking doping rules but said it was not intentional.
An independent tribunal ruled out “deliberate or reckless conduct” and upheld the claim.
