It didn’t take that long…
If you’ve never heard of TikTok’s viral “Of Course” trend, you’ve clearly been living at rock bottom. This online trend quickly became a social media sensation, encouraging users to share casual stereotypes about their professions and identities, and even law students have recently joined her LawTok.
If you’ve ever stayed up all night under the influence of caffeine or been glued to a textbook in the library, you’ll definitely relate to these TikToks.
@legallyamrutha We are law students and of course this is how we take a break between 4 hour study sessions #lawtok #lawschool #lawstudentsbelike ♬ Original song – LegallyAmrutha
In this TikTok video, four law students express the joy of studying law, including drinking more coffee than water. Others tell me how precious their time is because they don’t have time to do anything else besides study. After all, you can take a break and catch your steps while walking to the law library.
Many people commented in agreement with this trend, with one student saying, “It’s very practical to study without going out much on the weekends.” I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that law students won’t be exposed to much sunlight this summer.
Another person commented, “I developed an immunity to caffeine during law school.” And he said he would drink four shots of “espresso on ice” instead of three meals.
Another law student commented that even after drinking five Red Bulls, he was still able to get some shut-eye.
Another relatable struggle featured in the video is the strain that reading places on the eyes, and the fact that most law students, including those who started law school with “20/20 vision,” receive prescription eye prescriptions. It has become.
In the comments, one law student admitted that he was “basically blind” after staring at small print and screens for 10 hours at a time. She added that the situation is made worse when law libraries have poor lighting.
Another student said she had never worn glasses before entering law school, but now she has to wear an eyepatch because of “horrible things” done to her in law school. Some commenters advised the law student to use “blue block glasses,” which are designed to relieve eye strain and improve deep sleep.
This trend has also caught the attention of Hogan Lovells’ recruiting team.
@hoganlovellsgradsuk Trainees in our Birmingham office had to jump on board with this trend. Of course they find HL Duck in the office! 🦆💚 #HoganLovells #OfCourse #DefinedByDifference #LegalJourney #Law #fyp #GraduateRecruitment ♬ Playoffs – HYMN & Slip.stream
They joke: “We’re Hogan Lovells trainees. Of course we play table tennis during lunch breaks!”
Other law students at the University of Westminster joke that he “always wears black and white”, “looks like a secret agent” and “already busy in his first year”.
@demi.adewakun We are law students…we had a lot of fun filming. 😂 Note: The wood part was a joke referring to the amount of paper the law students used. We love and respect the nature here!😂👌🏾 * * * #ofcoursetrend #lawstudent #university #universityofwestminster #friends ♬ Original song – Oluwademilade
