Leaders express gratitude for Pakistan’s deep condolences on President Raisi’s death

TEHRAN – In a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of the Islamic Revolution praised Islamabad for expressing its heartfelt condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian. .

Khamenei stressed that relations could reach a new peak under Pakistan’s new government and noted President Raisi’s recent visit to Pakistan as an important step towards strengthening cooperation.

“Relationships with Pakistan are very important to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we absolutely see this country as a brotherly brother.However, the relationship between the two countries has had its ups and downs in recent years, and the new government in Pakistan “We believe this relationship could peak again below,” the leader said.

“Friendship between brotherly countries is not always easy, and obstacles must be overcome to advance cooperation and move forward enthusiastically and pragmatically,” he added.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif echoed Khamenei’s sentiments, saying that President Raisi’s visit served as an opportunity to deepen ties between Iran and Pakistan. The two leaders also expressed optimism about the prospects for enhanced cooperation across various fields.

President Raisi and Minister Amir Abdullahian died in a helicopter crash caused by bad weather in northwestern Iran on Sunday.
