The women’s 100m final at the U.S. Olympic Trials will be the sport’s fastest ticket to Paris, but it would be quite a surprise if one of those tickets doesn’t belong to Shakyari Richardson.
Richardson won the Olympic Trials three years ago but was suspended and unable to run in Tokyo after testing positive for THC – a disappointing setback for the star athlete, but one that hasn’t slowed her down.
Richardson won the gold medal at the 2023 World Championships, running the 100 meters in 10.65 seconds. — That was just 0.16 seconds off the world record and 0.04 seconds slower than the time that Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson-Heller won the gold medal in Tokyo.

The women’s 100-meter final will be the final event of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials at Hayward Field, beginning at 10:50 p.m. ET.
