
On the second night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, speakers staunchly supported former President Donald Trump, saying he was a self-sacrificing leader who led America to great heights and that Biden had undermined those accomplishments.
His former opponents, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, lined up to praise Trump, admit his mistakes and commit to voters giving him a second term.

Haley joins in: Haley took to the stage at Trump’s invitation to a flurry of cheers and jeers, but quickly demonstrated her full support for the president, prompting a reaction from the crowd.
(Other) Ring Kissers: Former rivals also kissed Trump’s ring, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
Christie’s shocking editorial: Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a one-time ally of Trump and now one of his most vocal Republican critics, wrote an op-ed in The New York Times shortly after Tuesday’s speech began, calling Trump’s initial attempts “to tamp down some of the worst rhetorical impulses” within the party “disappointing.”
The candidate argues: Several Republican candidates in key House and Senate races took different approaches to making their case Tuesday night, from Arizona Senate candidate Kelly Lake’s combative words to Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick’s calls for unity.
Family Programming: Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law and co-chair of the national party, closed out Tuesday’s celebrations with a conciliatory hand to moderates.
