Lok Sabha Election News Live: In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections held on Monday, 67.71 per cent of voters cast their votes in 96 constituencies across 10 states and union territories. West Bengal had the highest turnout at 75.91%, followed by Madhya Pradesh at 68.48%. However, turnout was low in Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra, at 36.58% and 52.63% respectively. Besides other states, Andhra Pradesh recorded a turnout of 68.12%, Bihar 55.90%, Jharkhand 63.37%, Odisha 63.85%, Telangana 61.29% and Uttar Pradesh 57.76%.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is preparing to submit his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. He has been elected for two consecutive terms in this constituency by a large margin.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections have put the spotlight on two major political alliances: the Indian Bloc and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s NDA. The Indian bloc includes political parties such as Congress, AAP, and TMC, while members of the NDA include the BJP, PMK, and JDU.
The NDA aims to win the election for the third time in a row under the banner of “400 Abu Kibaal Pearls”. Indosphere, on the other hand, has adopted an economic campaign, with its manifesto promising MSP for farmers and cash transfers for women.

Srinagar recorded highest turnout in decades at 38%
