Officials said the re-polls will be held on April 30 at six polling stations in Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency.
On April 26, unidentified persons damaged EVMs and VVPATs at four of these six polling stations before voting was completed, while EVM failure was reported at one polling station and ‘ The vote could not be completed due to “threat” and a re-vote was required. and threats by unknown miscreants,” they said.
According to a notification issued by the Manipur Chief Election Commissioner’s office, voting at four polling stations in Ukhrul Assembly constituency and one each in Chingai Assembly House in Ukhrul city and Karon city in Senapati has been declared invalid. A re-vote is scheduled to be held on April 30th.
On April 26, about 76.06 per cent of the 4.84 lakh voters exercised their franchise in voting in 13 of the 28 assembly blocks of the outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency. Voting was held in the remaining 15 divisions and the entire inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat. The first phase is April 19th.
