Lok Sabha elections: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde’s luggage checked by EC officials in Nashik

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde’s luggage was inspected by Election Commission officials at Panchavati in Nashik on Thursday.

Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut had claimed that Shinde had brought bags containing cash to Nashik by helicopter, but the claim was fabricated by Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Ta. Raut posted a video on X that shows Shinde getting off the helicopter and several people surrounding him carrying large items.

In an interaction with the media, Raut said if they claim to have the support of the people, why do they need money to woo voters, adding, “We have to ask the authorities to inspect our helicopters.” “We have time to do so, but no action is being taken against these people,” he added. .

Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Sirsat refuted Raut’s claim that the bag contained clothes. When leaders go on such expeditions, they say they bring bags full of clothes. Raut imagines, he added.

Fifth phase voting in 13 assembly seats in Maharashtra

Voting for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls was held on Monday, May 20 in 13 constituencies in Maharashtra, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, actor and politician Bhushan Patil , public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam has been named as a likely candidate. Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-highest number after Uttar Pradesh’s 80 seats.

The 13 constituencies scheduled to go to polls are Dhule, Dindori, Nashik, Kalyan, Palghar, Bhiwandi, Thane, North Mumbai, North West Mumbai, North East Mumbai, North Central Mumbai, South Central Mumbai and South Mumbai.

Of the 48 seats in the state assembly, the BJP is contesting 28, Shiv Sena 15, NCP four and Rashtriya Samaj Paksha one. The CM asserted that there is no difference within the Mahayuti alliance comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP over sharing of Lok Sabha seats among the allies.
