RUSTON, La. (KNOE) – Louisiana Tech University will be upgrading tailgating and parking options for fans ahead of the 2024 season.
Three additional free tailgating sections will be added around Joe Aillet Stadium, on the north and south sides of Thomas Assembly Center and at the corner of Tech Drive and W. Alabama Avenue.
The Purple Reserve tailgating section will expand to encompass the Red Lot and RV Edge as well as the grass area behind the outfield at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
Tailgaters with reservations will be provided with additional parking passes to the Red Lot section, the White Lot will have a designated area for free public parking, the Green Lot will be merged with the Red Lot, and the Gold Reserved Lot will be updated to provide spaces for Gold Lot members.
Vice President and Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey said the university is excited about these new changes that will enhance the game day experience: “We wanted to be thoughtful and intentional about these changes with the goal of increasing participation and eliminating as many friction points as possible. We believe that by incorporating the help, support and input of our fans through tech talks, focus groups and one-on-one conversations, we have provided a great opportunity to enhance the game day experience.”
The university said all reserved parking will be staffed eight hours before kickoff, or 8 a.m. for games starting at 4 p.m., and Stadium Road will open five hours before kickoff.
