After airing almost daily episodes for over a month, “Love Island USA” has crowned its season 6 winner.
The Peacock reality dating show narrowed down the winning candidates to four final couples during Friday’s broadcast, and viewers began voting for their favorites, with the results announced on Sunday’s season six finale.
Fan-favorite couple Serena Page and Kordell Beckham won America’s vote and took home the grand prize of $100,000. The show has also announced that it will add a special reunion episode, which will premiere on Monday, August 19 at 9pm ET/6pm PST, in which host Ariana Madix will reunite with the season 6 cast to reminisce about their dramatic journey.
The final four couples competing for the grand prize were Paige and Beckham, Lia Kateb and Miguel Harichi, Jana Craig and Kenny Rodriguez, and Nicole Jackie and Kendall Washington.
As a result of Friday’s eliminations, Cassi Castillo and Rob Rauch, who she only recently became a couple with after entering the villa as a bombshell, were booted off the island along with Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans. Martin and Evans seemed like the frontrunners, despite Evans facing a rocky time after their relationship on Casa Amor, but fans didn’t seem to be as easy to forgive as Martin.
“Love Island” season 6 premiered in June and quickly became one of the most talked-about reality shows of the summer, with viewers rallying around fan favorites like Katebe and Craig.
The season kicked off with 10 Islanders, but some were kicked out of the villa midway through the season, and new contestants (called bombshells) came to the villa to test connections. As expected, Casa Amor shook up existing dynamics, with Islanders being separated from couples and meeting new potential connections.
After “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland hosted the show for two seasons, seasons four and five, “Vanderpump Rules” alum and “Love Island” superfan Ariana Madix took over as host this season.
“‘Love Island’ is my favorite show. I love watching every single moment of it and I never get bored of it,” Maddix told TheWrap. “I get to watch it all in real time.”
“Love Island USA” seasons 4-6 are currently streaming on Peacock.
