Phase 5 of Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Almost 49% voting will be held in 13 assembly seats in Maharashtra till 5 pm.Corporate leaders and celebrities vote
Bollywood actors, corporate leaders and prominent politicians polled in 13 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai, in the fifth and final phase of the state’s elections, on an average till 5pm on Monday. A voting rate of 48.66% was recorded. Poll officials said they came out to exercise their right to vote.
With less than an hour left until voting officially ends, the state elections director’s office clarified that voters in line at 6 p.m. are entitled to vote. “Polling stations will continue to function until all voters who were in line at 6 p.m. have cast their votes,” the group claimed. Of the 13 constituencies spread across the Mumbai region and north Maharashtra, Dindori in Nashik district had the highest turnout at 57.06%, while Kalyan in Thane district had the lowest at 41.70%.
In other seats, Palghar recorded 54.32 per cent, Nashik 51.16 per cent, Bhiwandi 48.89 per cent, Dhule 48.81 per cent, Mumbai North 46.91 per cent, Mumbai North Central 47.32 per cent, Mumbai Northeast 48.67 per cent and Mumbai North West. did. Officials said it was 49.79%, Mumbai South 44.22%, Mumbai South Central 48.26% and Thane 45.38%.
