Mangura by-election 2024 results update: Congress’ Kazi Mohammed Nizamuddin wins by 400 votes

The results of the Mangla by-election were counted on July 13, 2024. Kazi Mohammad Nizamuddin of the Indian National Congress won the seat, defeating Kartar Singh Bhadana of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of just over 422 votes.

A total of six candidates were in the fray to be elected as the next Manguraur assembly member. The by-election to this assembly constituency was necessitated following the death of Sarwat Karim Ansari.

In the 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, BSP’s Sarwat Kaleem Ansari defeated INC’s Kazi Mohammad Nizamuddin by 598 votes, securing 0.68% of the total votes. A total of 87,580 votes were polled in the election, of which BSP secured 32,660 votes, accounting for 37.18% of the total votes.

In the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections, Virendra Rawat led in the Manglar Assembly seat in Hardwar Lok Sabha constituency with 23,001 votes, winning 29.92% of the total votes polled in the assembly. Trivendra Singh Rawat (BJP) won the Hardwar Assembly seat.

The constituency will go to polls on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 and counting of votes will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

The counting of votes for the 2022 Parliamentary Elections took place on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
