After Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. signed his rookie contract this week, he also reportedly agreed to an NFLPA licensing deal that will allow him to sell his jerseys.
And it’s been exactly a month since the Cardinals drafted Harrison, but his jersey is still not available for purchase — not even to pre-order.
Currently, if you search for “Marvin Harrison” on the Cardinals online store, No results returnedType “Marvin Harrison” into the Fanatics NFL page and you’ll see a ton of notable Marvin and Harrison related products (from Marvin Harrison Sr. to Harrison Butker, singer Marvin Gaye, NASCAR driver Harrison Burton, NBA players Marvin Bagley III, Harrison Smith, Marvin Mims Jr., football players Marvin Loria, James Harrison, Rodney Harrison, NBA player Harrison Barnes, MLB players Harrison Bader, Ronnie Harrison Jr., Harrison Ford and Marvin the Martian, really). Nothing came from Marvin Harrison Jr.
It’s unclear why the Cardinals and Fanatics weren’t ready to rush Harrison’s jerseys to market immediately after Harrison signed a contract granting him the rights to sell the jerseys. It’s believed that Harrison previously declined to sign an NFLPA licensing agreement in order to take advantage of Fanatics and redo his existing contract with the company. (Harrison claims there is no existing contract.) Could Fanatics, who sued Harrison for breach of contract, have decided to stop making and selling Harrison jerseys in order to take advantage of Harrison?
Either way, if you want a Marvin Harrison Jr. jersey, you can’t buy one just yet.
