ISLAMABAD:

Expelled PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat has gained support from within the opposition party, paving the way for his possible comeback.

According to sources, a significant development took place during PTI’s parliamentary party meeting, where the possibility of Marwat’s return to PTI was discussed.

They said the majority of the parliamentary party members spoke in favor of Sher Afzal Marwat and expressed support for bringing him back into the party.

Marwat himself attended the meeting. The PTI parliamentary party will present its stance on the expelled leader to the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, Asad Qaiser stated that decision-making authority in the PTI rests with Imran. “The parliamentary committee decision will be presented to the founder, who will make the final call.”

Sources revealed that Usama Mehla and Khurram Virk spoke in favor of Sher Afzal Marwat during the meeting. Nisar Jatt also endorsed Sher Afzal Marwat’s return.

In February this year, the PTI expelled Marwat from the party.

According to some reports, Imran Khan had instructed PTI leadership to revoke Marwat’s basic membership, citing concerns over his conduct at a rally in Swabi.

At the meeting, MNA Shandana Gulzar remarked that PTI leaders Shahbaz Gill and Shehzad Akbar were making statements against K-P CM Ali Amin Gandapur, yet the party has not issued any show-cause notices to them.
