New Zealand’s 2024-25 home season has been confirmed to include tours of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia alongside the already announced three-Test series with England, with Pakistan likely to overlap with the IPL later in the men’s schedule.
The men’s team will play a total of six ODIs and eight T20Is during the season, while the women’s team will play six ODIs and six T20Is. The Test match against England will be New Zealand’s only Test match of the summer, ending a nine-match stretch from September to December that also included away matches against Afghanistan (1), Sri Lanka (2) and India (3). In the 2025-26 season, New Zealand are scheduled to play just two home Test matches, against the West Indies.
After the series with England, the New Zealand men’s team will play T20Is and ODIs against Sri Lanka from late December to mid-January before traveling to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series as a prelude to the Champions Trophy, scheduled to begin on February 19.
Following this tournament, the team will host Pakistan in the second half of the season in late March or early April for five T20Is and three ODIs, with these matches likely to overlap with the IPL.
The New Zealand women’s team will host Australia for three ODIs at the Basin Reserve just before Christmas, before their Trans-Tasman neighbours return to Australia for three T20Is in late March. The Sri Lanka women’s team will follow the men’s team on a six-match tour in March.
Five of the women’s T20I matches – the final two against Sri Lanka and the three against Australia – will be played as double-headers with the men’s T20I series against Pakistan.
