Patriots linebacker Matt Judon wants a new contract but isn’t happy with what the team is offering him.

The Patriots have made an offer, but both sides Far from an agreementAccording to Henry McKenna of FoxSports.com.

Judon missed most of the Patriots’ offseason voluntary workouts but participated in mandatory minicamp, showing he’s willing to do what’s asked of him even if he doesn’t like his current contract.

“Just get ready to play“And then you keep throwing tantrums and not going out there and doing what you need to do. That kind of thing gets tiring fast. I’m not really trying to do that. I’m just trying to come out here and play football and get ready for the season ahead and put our defense and ourselves in a position to win the most games and be the most effective. So that’s what I’m really trying to do right now. I’m not worried about putting up or sitting out or protesting, because last year was trash. I really don’t like that stuff. I’m a football player, so I don’t want to get into the agency side of things. So I’m just going to come out here and play football.”

Indeed, Judon entered training camp with a base salary of $6.5 million and appears ready to play out the 2024 season. His best chance of negotiating a better contract may be having a big year and finding out if another team is willing to pay him what the Patriots aren’t willing to pay him in March.
