MCA Chairman Election: Three candidates contest for MCA Chairman election | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Three candidates — Mumbai unit vice-president Bhushan Patil, general secretary of the Indian National Congress Ajinkya Naik and vice-president of the Indian National Congress Sanjay Naik — have filed their candidacy for the Indian National Congress presidential elections. All three candidates filed their candidacy on Wednesday, the last day for filing nominations. There was speculation that Indian National Congress state president Nana Patole would contest but he withdrew in favour of Patil. The Indian National Congress will hold elections on July 23 following the untimely demise of incumbent president Amol Kher on June 10. Scrutiny of candidates will take place on Thursday and candidates have until 5 pm on July 16 to withdraw their candidacy. The elections will be held at the Wankhede Stadium. — Gaurav Gupta
