Macquarie Capital added another property to its portfolio this week with a new investment in Earth Resource Technology.
The company, known as ERT, provides scientific, engineering, environmental and IT services and solutions to government agencies.
Headquartered in Laurel, Maryland, the company’s customers include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NASA, and the U.S. Space Force.
ERT’s solutions focus on big data challenges such as extreme weather and climate prediction, and tracking of atmospheric and marine pollutants.
“This investment is an important milestone and growth opportunity for ERT,” said Jingli Yang, CEO and co-founder of ERT. “We are the ideal partner to support ERT as we seek to deepen our existing government relationships, diversify our customer base, and expand into adjacent markets.”
Yang and ERT president and co-founder Peter Li will remain with the business.
ERT’s Board of Directors will also include Jared Doskow, Senior Managing Director, Growth and Technology, Macquarie Capital. Larry Handen is a senior managing director and head of the growth and technology team at Macquarie Capital.
ERT plans to use the capital injection to expand its customer base and explore new growth opportunities.
