Melinda Gates Among the polar opposite candidates, he revealed his favorite. Joe Biden and Donald TrumpIn a new interview, the ex-wife of Bill Gates spoke about what’s important in the upcoming presidential election this November. While expressing her opinion on choosing a sitting leader over a Republican heavyweight, the 59-year-old said, Women Voters as a deciding factor.

Melinda, a one-time Democrat, told CBS News’ Gayle King that she’s backing Biden again, and one of the big reasons the billionaire is backing the 81-year-old leader despite his dwindling poll numbers is because of the other candidates’ comments and policies regarding women.

“Women turned out in the midterm elections and said, ‘enough is enough,’ and we need to do it again. I will definitely not vote for Trump. I will vote for Biden,” Melinda said in an interview.

Notably, the ex-wife of Microsoft billionaire Bill Biden has long been associated with the Democratic Party, with Barack Obama helping to promote her book, and Melinda, who is said to be worth more than $11 billion, is set to support Biden on the campaign trail.

The philanthropist said she has voted Republican in the past, but has repeatedly expressed concerns about the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, claiming at the time that former president Trump lacked leadership and created “chaos” across the country.

“I’m surprised we weren’t more prepared but also, frankly, surprised we wasted so much time and the lack of leadership at a national level,” the Daily Mail quoted Melinda as saying.
