NEW YORK (AP) — met gala On Monday, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya and other A-list fashionistas paraded in swirls of flora and fauna on a greenish carpet lined with living leaves.
Lopez wore a second-skin goddess dress and opted for silver leaves, while Zendaya indulged in vamp and fantasy as she appeared in a rare double on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Both served as co-chairs. Annual fundraising eventand both received cheers from a crowd of fashion enthusiasts packed behind a fence outside.
Lopez (of Schiaparelli) looked full of energy in a nearly nude gown. What she has is met gala down: She is the 14th person.
Zendaya wore a fashion face in peacock shades of blue and green, accessorizing it with a matching headpiece and leaf accents. The look was Maison Her Margiela by John Galliano. She walked again and closed the carpet wearing her black Givenchy haute couture dress, also by Galliano, and a flower-filled headpiece by Alexander McQueen.
It’s been five years since Zendaya last attended a gala. Lopez chose Tiffany diamonds, including a stunning bird motif necklace with over 20 carats of diamonds in the center.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” inspired by JG Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name, flowers were placed throughout.
Mindy Kaling is sure to earn a spot on best-dressed lists with her sandy swirls towering overhead in the rear. No need to worry about dinner. The back was removable. Her look was created by Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta.
Asher wore a dark, sinister black suit and cloak, a wide-brimmed black hat, a black brooch on one lapel, and carried a single red rose. The look was Alexander McQueen by Sean McGirr.

Gigi Hadid brought a look from drama king Thom Browne himself to the show. Her white dress was decorated with 2.8 million microbeads with yellow flowers and green thorns. She looked absolutely stunning with her wavy bob and deep red lips.
If there’s a Met Gala queen other than the night’s mastermind, Anna Wintour, it’s Sarah Jessica Parker. Longtime participants take each year’s theme seriously and study it down to the smallest detail. This year she looked like Alice in Wonderland with a lavender overlay and a Philip Treacy topper on her head. Her dress was by Richard Quinn. Her long hair cascaded behind her in beachy waves, a look that incorporated the beauty trends of the night.
If Parker is the queen, Ayo Edebiri This is Gala Baby. This was her first creation, and she appeared at Loewe in a youthful white look that disappeared into a garden full of colorful flowers at her feet.
Serena Williams took metallic gold to a new level with a sparkling one-shoulder statement look. Ariana Grande made the most of her pale strapless Loewe look with 3D eyelashes on the sides of her eyes, making the most of Glinda the Good Witch. She arrived with her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo wearing a dark, edgy look by Thom Browne in black with pink petals.
Cardi B was having the most fun at the Met Gala, striking a pose or three in a black dress with a huge tulle train. It was due to Windowsen. She paired the look with green jewelry and a high black turban. She needed multiple helpers to carry the dress up the stairs.

Channeling Sleeping Beauty and the Garden
Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz went goth in black Chanel. She wore a bustier top and an off-shoulder silhouette similar to Sleeping Beauty. There was another Sleeping Beauty style guest. Kendall Jenner wears a Givenchy look created by Alexander McQueen in 1999.

Kendall’s younger sister, Kylie Jenner, looks more like an old-fashioned look than a fairy tale, with her chic low-cut strapless Oscar de la Renta look, white flowers in her crisp updo, and carrying a train on her back. It was like Hollywood. Oddly enough, her sister Kim Kardashian wore a gorgeous silver corset look with a leaf motif from the house of Margiela, which was well hidden by a rugged gray sweater.
Dua Lipa was a completely different type of princess. She enjoyed rock’n’roll in a black Marc Jacobs outfit that accompanied her. Her lace and feather look fell loosely around her hips and fell deep at her neck.
The princess-like vibe was an obvious reference to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring exhibition, which opens with a gala.it is called “Sleeping Beauty: The Reawakening of Fashion.” Some of the 400 guests went to Disney, even though it actually has nothing to do with Disney or princesses.
Among the princesses was Barry Keoghan, aka the Mad Hatter, dressed in a rustic Burberry velvet Victorian outfit with a high-necked bow shirt underneath. Of course he was wearing a top hat.

Demi Moore stuck it out in the garden in a Harris Reid look with giant wings surrounded by arrows and hand-painted with pink and white flowers.
Diesel topped the gala carpet riding Dove Cameron. It was completely different from diesel and suitable for gardens as well. This look had sleeves attached to a train.
Find the deeper meaning of the theme
Lily Gladstone chose black by Gabriella Hearst.
“I wanted them to feel surrounded by the power of their ancestors,” she says. “For Kiowa and Blackfeet, our ancestors are the stars and where we come from. … It’s great that we have so much Indigenous representation and this kind of upper-class luxury fashion world. , I feel like it’s completely outdated now, because that’s our aesthetic, you know, indigenous people have always loved luxury.
Brooke Bobb, fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar, thought all the black and florals had different meanings on this night.
“There was a lot of black. Perhaps it was a gothic ode to the actual exhibition title ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ but in this chaotic world we live in now, not all “It may have been a coincidental nod to the fact that there are no clothes, and even no clothes,” she said.
There was no Rihanna or Taylor Swift.
“Zendaya came out swinging for the second time in her carpet-closing finale look, but overall, the whole red carpet experience felt like a weird time warp, somewhere between the glory days of the Met Gala and now. I felt trapped. The gathering of everything and the vibrancy of social media tends to take precedence over fashion purely for the love of fashion,” Bob said.

Floral looks and special plus-1
Colman Domingo wore a white jacket with a cape and wide-legged pants, and carried a bouquet of white calla lilies. Meanwhile, Tyra opted for a Balmain dress made to look like sand, using real sand in the fabric molded to her body. She needed help climbing the museum stairs with an hourglass in her hand. Domingo’s designer was Willy Chavarria.
Sam Smith tucked silver and gold metal roses into the waist of his jacket, and Jack Harlow also embraced florals, but with a subtle silver and pearl boutonniere.
Wintour wore a black coat adorned with colorful flowers by Loewe. Her co-chair, Bad She Bunny, wore an all-black custom Maison Her Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano.
Among those who really enjoyed the nature and garden theme was Lana Del Rey. She walked the steps of the museum like a real tree, covering her face with a cloth supported by her branches. This look was by Alexander McQueen.
Pregnant Lea Michele wore Rodarte, which was inspired by the brand’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
“I’m honored to be here with my baby,” Michelle said. “I don’t think I was allowed a plus-one, but I brought a plus-one,” she said with a laugh. “I’m so grateful. I feel so beautiful during this pregnancy.”
Nicki Minaj also stepped out wearing a bright metallic yellow dress with large flowers that swayed and swayed as she moved.
Early reactions to this year’s MET GALA looks
Larry Curran, a stylist and independent brand consultant, has noticed the huge success of certain brands and said, “Is this the year people stop asking how to pronounce Loewe?”
This is Luwevy.
Elle.com beauty director Danielle James said top trends of the night also included bold blush and baby bangs.
“We loved seeing Ayo Edebiri’s berry blush, which took the strawberry makeup trend to a new level. Nell Diamond’s cheeks were a poppy red. Gigi Hadid’s cheeks were a poppy red. It gave us an eye-catching look with a bold red lip that we’re sure to see on many nights out this summer. After the season of no-makeup makeup and minimalism, color is here! ”
