Wirt County Sideliners Golf Scramble

The Wirt County Sideliners and Wirt County High School football teams will hold their annual Golf Scramble on June 1st at Mingo Bottom Golf Course.

Tee times begin at 9 a.m. and prizes will be awarded for each team: $200, 1st place, $400, 2nd place, $200, 3rd place, $100, 50/50 and closest to the pin. We also have a $5,000 hole-in-one prize on the #10 par 3 hole, and some really great prizes for hole-in-one prizes on all other par 3 holes. Food and drinks will be provided. Please register in advance if possible.

MOVTA holds monthly meeting

The Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association (MOVTA) will hold its monthly meeting at Panera Bread on Monday, May 13th at 6 p.m. We will update our spring and summer activity plans. If you are interested in local tennis, please join us.

MOVTA Spring Fling Tennis Tournament

The 2024 MOVTA Spring Fling Tennis Tournament will be held May 18th and 19th.The game could start as early as Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m.

For playtimes, call Mike Politz at 304-588-0809 after 6pm on Thursday, May 16th.

Venue: Jackson Park Tennis Courts in Vienna. The format is round-robin play in blocks of approximately two hours. Match formats vary depending on the number of players in each age group/event. Players can participate in multiple events.

The events are 10-14 men’s singles, women’s singles and doubles, 15-18 men’s singles, women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. All singles events are $15 and all doubles events are $15 per individual, per event (or $30 per team). To register for the tournament, the entry form must be received or postmarked by Tuesday, May 14th. Mail entries and payments to: MOVTA, PO Box 5183, Vienna, WV 26105. You may also email a photo or scan of your entry along with the tournament fee to movtaovta@gmail.com. Entry forms can be found on the Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association Facebook page, and forms can be found at the Wood County Rec Office in City Park.
