Washington DC (June 12, 2024) –Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), a local independent media platform, announced today that the show will be broadcast. Stanley PappA 90-minute program depicting friendly dog competitionwhich will air Friday, June 14 at 7pm ET. The show will be rebroadcast several times on MNMT over the coming weeks. Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is in association with Michael Levitt Productions and NHL Productions.
Leading the production of Stanley PappMonumental Sports & Entertainment Productions filmed the dog competition at Capital One Arena and brought it into post-production, turning hours of puppy cuteness and loads of puns into an intense battle where East meets West, Kenarty leads to a power play, the stick is for chewing and the biscuits are all on the top shelf.

Program Features Dogs for adoption Provided by The nonprofit organization, Petco Love, collects donations from affiliated animal shelters and rescue groups across the country. The adorable pups represent the 16 teams competing in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including: Alex Ofetchkin Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, Merrifield, Virginia Washington Capitals.
Additionally, local fans will be able to see some familiar faces throughout the special, including: Washington Capitals Defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk And moving forward Tom Wilson They will introduce dogs that are up for adoption, conduct interviews during breaks, and help find homes for local pets. Alexa Landestoy Monumental Sports Network reporters will be rinkside reporting and the show will be filmed in multiple locations and feature celebrity appearances including dog lovers Kristin Chenoweth, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Heather McMahan, Lisa Vanderpump and Trisha Yearwood. Stanley Papp The game will premiere nationally on NHL Network and ESPN+ for fans in the United States on Friday, June 7th, and on Sportsnet for fans in Canada on Saturday, June 8th.
Friday night’s broadcast and subsequent showings will be available across the network on both linear television and Monumental’s digital streaming platforms. With the Washington Capitals Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation The Capitals have supported animal-related causes in the community for many years. In 2019, the Capitals hosted the inaugural Caps Canines Puppy Playoffs in celebration of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a hockey game featuring puppies available for adoption, with the 16-minute match airing on the organization’s social media channels. The Capitals and the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation produce the Caps Canines Calendar each year, featuring photos of Caps players and their dogs, as well as dogs available for adoption through Northern Virginia-based Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. Proceeds benefit Wolf Trap Animal Rescue and the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation.
The Capitals have also partnered with the American Veterinary Canine Association to foster two service dogs. Captain was adopted by a retired U.S. Marine after training, and Biscuit is currently working as a facility dog at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In 2024, Nick and Paige Dowd also announced a partnership to sponsor a future service dog named Judy with proceeds raised through the Dowd’s Cloud Community Program. Several Capitals players have also participated in the national anti-animal cruelty campaign “Show Your Soft Side.”
In addition, the team Caps Canines Club Caps Canines, presented by PEDIGREE, invites pet owners to register their dogs for the official dog club of the Washington Capitals. Caps Canines gives pet owners the opportunity to get involved with the Washington Capitals through exclusive pet merchandise, events and special offers. In 2023, the Capitals hosted their third annual Caps Canines Night, presented by the PEDIGREE Foundation. The night highlights the organization’s work around dog adoption and animal-related activities, including visits from players bringing puppies for adoption and in-game content.
