Morehead State University’s Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chapter has received the prestigious High Honors Award for the 2023-24 academic year.
BGS is an international honor society offering business programs accredited by AACSB International. “Highest Honors” status reflects the chapter’s outstanding commitment to increasing Beta Gamma Sigma’s presence on campus and promoting academic excellence in business education.
Dr. Christy L. Trent (Class of 2006)The faculty advisor for the MSU BGS chapter said the chapter has been particularly active over the past year.
“We ensured that BGS was registered as the university’s official student organization, elected student officers, and maintained a strong social media presence by sharing activities and member profiles.” Trent said. “We also volunteered to help the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate host the spring regional FBLA high school competition.”
“I am proud of the hard work and dedication of our students to live up to this high honor,” said Dean and Professor of Business and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Janet Ratliff (Class of 1991, Class of 1992).
As a High Honors Chapter, Morehead State University’s BGS Chapter enjoys several benefits, including:

- Eligibility to nominate candidates for prestigious global awards.
- Opportunity to participate in the BGS Matching Scholarship Program. A $1,000 scholarship may be awarded to eligible BGS students.
Beta Gamma Sigma membership is the highest rating a business student can receive in a program accredited by AACSB International. The mission of the association is to encourage and recognize academic achievement in business studies and to foster leadership and professional excellence among its lifetime members.
