NASHIK: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) meeting to discuss seat allocation for the upcoming state assembly elections will begin soon. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Nashik, Raut said the MVA meeting was initially scheduled for Monday but had to be postponed due to an All India Congress Committee meeting scheduled in Delhi for the same day. “All MVA partners will come together and amicably decide on seat allocation for the upcoming state assembly elections,” he said. “MVA partners had contested jointly in the recent Lok Sabha elections and achieved a high percentage of wins,” he added. Raut was in the city on Sunday to campaign for MVA and UBT candidate Sandeep Gurve for the Nashik Teachers’ Constituency MLC elections on June 26. Later in the day, Raut also addressed a gathering of teachers. Raut also criticised Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for campaigning for Shiv Sena candidate Kishore Darade in the teachers’ constituency MLC elections. “During his tenure, the Chief Minister did not utter a single word on issues relating to teachers or education. But now, during the election campaign, he has assured that he will resolve the issues of tribal teachers and ashram schools in the state,” Raut said. He added that both farmers and teachers were under stress in the state. “A state where these two factors are not met cannot be a happy one,” Raut said.
