Jammu: BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda will visit Jammu on July 6 to launch the party’s work by announcing plans for the upcoming state assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Nadda, who will be receiving a warm welcome in Jammu following the BJP’s third consecutive victory, will be reviewing the party’s work.
The move is crucial as the Election Commission of India (ECI) will begin updating the electoral rolls of union territories, paving the way for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and other states.
“Nadda will arrive in Jammu to take stock of the party’s functioning and discuss strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief in Jammu and Kashmir state Ravinder Raina told news agency PTI.
After his arrival, Nadda is scheduled to address the BJP leadership meeting starting July 5, which will be attended by over 2,000 party leaders and officials. The agenda will include a review of the election campaign, election strategy and plans for future election-related activities.
Nadda will be accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Election Officer G. Kishan Reddy, who is expected to deliver an election-related programme. “We expect the Election Commission to declare the election results soon,” Raina said.
The party’s main focus is to form a BJP-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The important meeting will also be attended by Jammu and Kashmir BJP in-charge Tarun Chugh, joint in-charge Ashish Sood, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Congress leader Jugal Kishore and several other senior leaders of the BJP and RSS.
