A total of five candidates are contesting in the 2024 by-election to the 51st Naragarh Assembly constituency in Himachal Pradesh. The by-election to the constituency and the election to elect a new Naragarh Assembly member were necessitated by the resignation of MP KL Thakur.

In the last elections from this constituency in 2022, there were eight candidates in total – KL Thakur (IND), Hardeep Singh Bawa (INC), Lakhwinder Singh Rana (BJP), Jagdish Chand (RTRYDVBHMP), Dharam Pal (AAP), Paras Bain (BSP), Jagpal Singh Rana (IND) and Kishori Lal (SWAP). This seat was won by IND in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.
The Gazette Notice for the Nalagarh by-election was published on Friday, June 14, 2024, the last date for consideration of nominations was Monday, June 24, 2024 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations was Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Voting for this seat is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 2024 and counting of votes will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
