NBC Sports will continue a relationship that began in 2019 and will remain the home for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and other sportscar series through a multi-year extension starting next season.

IMSA viewership on NBC Sports platforms has increased 37 percent over the past five seasons.

The new agreement includes an approximately 50 percent increase in the NBC broadcast network’s coverage, with IMSA’s premier series set to air 17 hours each year on NBC, and All WeatherTech SportsCar Championship coverage will continue to be streamed live on Peacock.

The 2023 season was IMSA’s most-watched season on NBC, with viewership up 13 percent year over year. IMSA coverage on Peacock saw a 60 percent increase in total streaming hours compared to 2022.

“Our partnership with NBC Sports has increased viewership for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship every year since our inaugural season in 2019 through last season,” IMSA president John Doonan said in the release. “We also achieved impressive viewership growth on Peacock, a valuable platform that delivers live endurance racing coverage to race fans across the country.”

“We are pleased to announce not only an expanded relationship with NBC Sports, but also a nearly 50 percent increase in airtime on the NBC broadcast network starting next year.”

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with IMSA as the home of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and its supporting series,” said Justin Bicek, SVP of programming and rights management, NBC Sports. “From the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona to Petit Le Mans, fans will be able to enjoy every moment of IMSA’s high-quality, competitive racing across NBC Sports’ linear and digital platforms for years to come.”
