The Flats – Georgia Tech’s No. 17 ranked golf team begins its quest to advance to the 34-man NCAA Men’s Division I Golf Championshipth time on Monday when the Yellow Jackets compete in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional Tournament.Matches begin Monday at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

A total of 81 teams and 45 individuals will compete over the next three days at six different regional venues for a spot in the NCAA Championships. The top five teams from each region and the top individuals not affiliated with those teams will advance to the finals, which will be held from May 24th to May 29th at the Omni LaCosta Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.

As the No. 3 seed, Tech will be matched up with No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Alabama in Monday’s first round, starting at 7:30 a.m. on the first tee. The top three teams on the leaderboard tee off at 7:30 a.m. each day, while the second and third round pairings (Tuesday and Wednesday) are determined by the teams’ cumulative scores.

The tech companies have advanced to the NCAA Regional Round in each of the past four years (the NCAA Championships and Regional Rounds were not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), as the NCAA adopted a regional qualifying format in 1989.
