The University of Nebraska quarterback recently spoke about his “welcome to college football” moment. Freshman Daniel Kaelin appeared on “The Let It Fly Show” where he was asked by host Michael Shiver about his adjustment process to college football and the differences between high school and college football.
A couple of people have asked me that, but at first it didn’t really spring to mind. But it reminded me of one moment the other day. The second practice, we had a third-down play… I ended up looking the wrong way. So I messed up the play, but I knew it was a checkdown, so I turned around and I had pressure in my face, so I just threw it. I thought I threw it where nobody could reach it. I think it was Tommy Hill, but the speed he kicked the ball up to the sideline and caught it was different. The speed was different.
Kaelin flourished last season as one of Nebraska’s top 2024 prospects, throwing for 2,225 yards, 17 touchdowns and six interceptions as an Elite 11 quarterback.
He’s part of a competitive quarterback corps heading into the 2024 season. He’ll be competing with freshman Dylan Raiola and last year’s starter, Heinrich Hurlberg.
