What’s the latest news on 2024 NFL training camps?
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has reportedly requested a trade. Check out our live blog below for more details.
What are the top storylines from 2024 NFL training camp?
All eyes will be on the first-round rookie quarterbacks, including Chicago’s Caleb Williams, Washington’s Jayden Daniels, New England’s Drake Maye, Minnesota’s J.J. McCarthy, Atlanta’s Michael Pennis Jr. and Denver’s Bo Nix.
In terms of keeping an eye on the contract situations, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk could sign new deals in the coming weeks or face a drawn-out drama if no deals are struck.
As always, there are some big QB matchups on the way, including Russell Wilson vs. Justin Fields in Pittsburgh and Gardner Minshew vs. Aidan O’Connell in Las Vegas, while May, Nix, McCarthy and Pennis will try to push their potential starters as much as possible on each side, plus a wild card between Daniel Jones and Drew Lock of the Giants.

Brandon Aiyuk’s 5 most likely landing spots
It’s rare for a player as talented as Aiyuk to be available, regardless of whether he actually plays, and even if Aiyuk does move, it would be an unusual transfer that would change the season in mid- to late July.
Here are the five most likely landing spots, starting with the 49ers and then it gets interesting.

Brandon Aiyuk has developed into a great WR for the 49ers.
Brandon Aiyuk, 26, has spent his entire career with the Niners, having been the 25th overall draft pick in 2020 and producing results for the team. In his four-year career with San Francisco, Aiyuk has recorded 269 receptions for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns. Aiyuk has found ways to significantly improve his game each season, but the promotion of Brock Purdy to the starting quarterback role in 2022 has provided a big step forward for Aiyuk.
In his first two seasons with the Niners without Purdy, Aiyuk had 118 receptions for 1,574 yards and 10 touchdowns. But in the last two seasons with Purdy throwing to him, Aiyuk had 153 receptions for 2,357 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Please see here for the detail.
Would a potential holdout for Brandon Aiyuk prove costly on his fifth-year option?
Aiyuk and #49ers-SF has leverage in these cases. 5th year option players are subject to fines if they miss camp or preseason games. I think it’ll be around $40k per day and $785k per preseason game.
Report: 49ers tell teams they have no intention of trading Brandon Aiyuk
Of course, this could also just mean that not enough offers have been received yet.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, ninth overall pick Rome Odunze has agreed to a four-year, fully guaranteed rookie contract worth $22.7 million with the Bears.

Will Brandon Aiyuk’s demands for the 49ers be similar to Deebo Samuel’s?
