Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday held the Congress government in Karnataka accountable as the spat escalates over former chief minister HD Dev Gowda’s grandson Prajwal Revanna, who was allegedly involved in a major sex scandal in Karnataka. He shifted the blame and said that Congress knew everything. She waited for Vocaligas’ vote. The Home Minister hinted that the Karnataka government will wait until the April 26 polls, which will be the first phase in Karnataka and the second phase across the country. A majority of voters on April 26 were from the Vokkaliga community and any action against leader Prajwal would likely have enraged the Congress.

Amit Shah on Wednesday commented on the controversy surrounding Karnataka BJP leader Prajwal Revanna.

The obscene video in question surfaced two days before voting day. The day after the elections (April 27), Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced an SIT probe into the allegations against Prajwal. On April 28, an FIR was filed against Prajwal and his father, an MLA, alleging that the two had sexually assaulted each other over the years by their domestic help. The JD(S) suspended Prajwal from the party pending an investigation against him. The SIT on Tuesday issued summons to both Prajwal and his father HD Revanna.

Mr. Siddaramaiah on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to suspend Mr. Prajwal’s diplomatic passport for allegedly going to Germany in the wake of the controversy.

The Congress blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party, an ally of the JD(S) in Karnataka, saying Prime Minister Modi was aware of Prajwal’s crimes but was still seeking votes for him.

Questioning the timing of announcing the probe, Amit Shah told ANI, “Whose government is this in Karnataka? It is the Congress government. Law and order is their responsibility. “I knew about this from the beginning. But they didn’t catch him until the investigation started.” Vocaliga voting has ended. They let him escape. The responsibility lies with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. ”

According to reports, there are over 2,900 sex videos with links to Prajwal, which Prajwal had previously dismissed as “altered”. In response to the recent developments, Prajwal issued a statement on Wednesday saying that he is outside Bengaluru and would need time to appear before the inquiry committee.

Prajwal’s father HD Revanna, who is known for his faith in astrology and astrological therapy, was seen attending a havan at his home on Wednesday, PTI reported. “I have the strength to fight these conspiracies. I will face them (investigations). There is no need to bother. I have done nothing wrong. I will not respond to any investigation. We are ready and will fight the case legally,” Revanna said.
