houston – TikTok has helped put many local businesses on the map, and this recent trend is spurring new business for one Houston restaurant.

This social media platform is expanding its genre beyond being a “dance” app, allowing creators to express their opinions, show off their cooking skills, and save dying businesses by helping owners with free marketing. Now you can even do it.

We all know about the influence influencers like Keith Lee and Mr ChimeTime have on TikTok, but they forgot one thing. It’s Bread Zeppelin.

So KPRC 2 Senior Digital Content Producer Brittany Taylor visited and sampled a newly opened restaurant in Houston.

my personal experience

The employees were very kind and the store was clean. I decided to try a baguette stuffed with Greek salad called Atlantic.

I love tangy and sweet salads, so this was recommended to me. I’m no Keith Lee by any means, but here’s my real reaction when I try some of the Bled Zeppelins menu items.

See my reaction and food rating below.

The second time is also a charm

Matt West, director of brand development, said the Texas-based restaurant signed a lease and opened its first location in Houston’s Spring District before the coronavirus outbreak. He said the impact of the pandemic was a major factor in the failure of the business, which led to its closure.

The business reopened in May 2023 in the Upper Kirby area located at 3235 Southwest Fwy.

With the help of hungry influencers, Bled Zeppelin’s popularity began to grow. Especially since his recent TikTok trend of chopped Italian sandwiches, known to many as Italian Grinder His Salad.

What’s so unique about Bled Zeppelin?

West said the restaurant specializes in stuffed baguette sandwiches and chopped salad bowls. Bread Zepplin is also known for its fresh, homemade ingredients. The proteins are also marinated and cooked in-house. Our special dressing is also made from scratch!

Customers can choose from 11 signature salad bowls and three grain bowls, or build their own bowl with unlimited options.

Now, regarding the chopped salad baguette, you don’t have to worry about carbohydrates since the hollowed baguette has about 90% of the contents of the toasted baguette removed.

What makes their salads stand out? Salads are chopped daily and combined with your favorite protein, chopped vegetables, and dressing.

The top three grossers in this business are Southwest Airlines, Atlantis Airlines, and Metro Cobb Zeppelin Airlines.

When it comes to dressings, Avocado Ranch is our top seller. “We’re in Texas, and people love their ranch,” West said.

So what do they do with the leftover bread?

West says the restaurant uses leftover baguettes to make sweet, gooey bread pudding.

West also said that while it’s the quality of the food that draws people in, it’s the hospitality that sets them apart.

And don’t forget the drinks. They make their tea from scratch, but they also make fresh juices.

Juicy Guava and Juicy Peach are especially recommended drinks.

customer health addiction

Mr. West was very confident in his stance that once you tried a specialized zeppelin, you would definitely do it again.

“This is a unique product. Once you have it, you want it,” West said. “We don’t know how many guests will come and eat it for the first time, but believe it or not, we’ll see them the next day, and we’ll see them two days after that.”

“It’s kind of addictive. It’s a good problem for us. It’s very ‘hooking’,” he continued.

He also thanked social media for helping him promote his business, grow his brand and gain organic followers.

“People eat with their eyes, so seeing it makes them want to eat,” West says.

Since the TikTok trend, restaurants have seen an increase of at least 30%, West said.

Will more locations be coming?

I had to ask, “Will Bled Zeppelin open more stores for people in the Houston area who can’t travel?”

Bled Zeppelin plans to open a store in Memorial by the end of the year, and another in the Memorial area in 2025, West said.

The company plans to expand into the Houston metropolitan area in the near future.

Regarding the restaurant’s first anniversary, West announced that a birthday bash event will be held from May 1st to May 6th. Every day there will be an event where one lucky customer will win his free Zeppelin for a year.
