Melbourne, Australia, May 27, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Australia aims to grow its tech workforce to 1.2 million by 2030, but significant challenges remain. Despite recent immigration reforms, the Australian Technology Council reports that 160,000 young Australians need training to join the tech workforce.

“Australia is punching above its weight in creating globally successful home-grown technology companies, yet only 1% of Australia’s tech workforce has scale-up experience, compared to 17% in Singapore,” said TCA CEO Kate Pounder.

A global tech skills shortage, exacerbated by the pandemic and rapid digital transformation, is driving the need for innovative recruitment strategies. Border closures further limit access to overseas talent, heightening the urgency for effective solutions.

Outstaffer, a leading full-service global EOR company, is pleased to announce a virtual webinar, “Recruiting Top Tech Talent in Asia Pacific”, focused on the tech talent shortage in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The event will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 12:30pm – 1:30pm AEST on Zoom.

The webinar will feature insights from industry experts.
