Pakistan and Vietnam reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen tourism, trade and investment ties during high-level talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh in Riyadh on Wednesday.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference and emphasized the mutual benefits of strengthening bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement after the meeting, highlighting Prime Minister Shehbaz’s enthusiasm for deepening cooperation with Vietnam. Recognizing the common potential in trade and investment, he suggested that the delegations of both countries explore business opportunities and strengthen economic ties.

He praised Vietnam’s dynamic role within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and sought Vietnam’s support in advancing Pakistan’s efforts towards full dialogue partner status within ASEAN.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also invited Prime Minister Pham to visit Pakistan, marking a step towards expanding diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The talks follow a recent memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, expanding the scope of the partnership to $2.8 billion and highlighting regional efforts to strengthen the economic union.
