At a meeting of the Bank of India employees’ union, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf’s name was mistakenly included in the memorial list, sparking a controversy.

A controversy erupted in Kerala on Saturday. Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf‘s name was on the list of prominent persons whose tributes will be paid at the Indian Bank Employees’ Union State Conference held in Alappuzha.

The union claims this was a typographical error which it corrected once it was realised, and the programme was subsequently aired without Musharraf’s name.

Protesting the inclusion of Musharraf’s name, the BJP organised a march to the conference venue in Alappuzha.

This development is 25th Anniversary of India’s Victory in the Kargil WarMusharraf, then a four-star general in the Pakistan Army, He ordered the infiltration of secret forces into Kargil in 1999.All-out war broke out between India and Pakistan.

According to the programme notice, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal was supposed to inaugurate the state conference but did not attend.
