According to media reports, a 12-member forensic team arrived at Adiala Jail on Tuesday to conduct a polygraph test on the country’s former prime minister, Imran Khan, in connection with the unprecedented 2023 violence in Pakistan.
The riots on May 9 broke out across the country after Khan, 71, was arrested by the National Audit Bureau (NAB) in a £190 million corruption case. The former cricketer turned politician faces more than 200 charges and has been jailed since August 2023.
According to a report by The Express Tribune, a Lahore Police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police arrived at the prison premises to carry out the inspection.
According to reports, the police officers were accompanied by experts from the Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA), who will conduct polygraph, voice verification and photogrammetry tests on the former prime minister.

PTI activists and supporters allegedly attacked and vandalised military installations and monuments, including the General Headquarters, during the protests on May 9.
Pakistani authorities quickly took action, launching a massive crackdown on the party.
The former prime minister denied ordering the destruction of state property, but acknowledged that he had asked his party to stage peaceful protests outside GHQ in case he was detained.
