Pakistan’s fate in the T20 World Cup may depend on the weather in Lauderhill, Florida
Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the Super 8 in the ongoing T20 World Cup were always going to be tough after they were shocked by hosts USA in the first match. The loss to India in the second match was particularly hard for Pakistan to swallow as they should have won easily after restricting India to 119 in the first innings. However, Pakistan managed to steady the sinking ship and bounce back from two consecutive losses with a win against Canada.
But Pakistan still have a hurdle to overcome over the next few days – and it will be tough given the weather conditions in Lauderhill, the Florida city where Group A’s most crucial match will be played.
Recently, Sri Lanka’s must-win match against Nepal at the same venue was called off due to heavy rains and flood warnings in Lauderhill. The landslides had put Sri Lanka on the edge of defeat. Now it seems Pakistan may meet the same fate. (Read more)
