In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, three men lured a male college student to a riverbank, attempted to sexually assault him, and eventually videotaped him undressing, before threatening him, Dawn reported.
The first chargesheet was filed at Dandai Police Station, applying Articles 377 (unnatural crimes) and 511 (attempted crime punishable with life imprisonment).
According to the FIR, last Friday, the victim was contacted by the suspects who are her acquaintances. The suspects allegedly lured the victim by offering to take her to a riverbank before making sexual advances toward her. However, the victim resisted, Dawn newspaper reported.
However, the suspects recorded the victim naked and threatened to release the footage and harm her if she reported it.
Station House Officer (SHO) Dandai Muhammad Arif Khan informed that three persons involved in the FIR have been arrested and further interrogation is on.
According to the FIR, the victim was referred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Bisham for medical examination.
Data collected by Sahil, an NGO working on child sexual abuse, shows a worrying trend. Most abusers are people who are well known to the victim, such as acquaintances, neighbors, or even family members.
Dorn said religious teachers and clergy have emerged as the main perpetrators in institutions, with more charges being filed against them than even police officers, school teachers and members of nuclear families.
