During Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Belarus, Pakistan and Belarus agreed to send over 150,000 trained and skilled youth from Pakistan to Belarus. Additionally, several agreements were signed to enhance military cooperation and increase trade between the two countries.

MoUs were also signed across multiple sectors during the visit. Prior to this, a bilateral meeting took place between the Belarusian president and PM Shehbaz at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. A consensus was reached to develop a comprehensive action plan for sending over 150,000 skilled Pakistani workers to Belarus.

The PM was warmly welcomed upon his arrival in Belarus by President Alexander Lukashenko. The armed forces presented a guard of honour, and the national anthems of both countries were played.

Following the welcome ceremony, an official event was held where representatives from both nations signed various agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs). Among these, a military cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministries of Defence of Pakistan and Belarus.

Furthermore, Pakistan’s Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry entered into a cooperation agreement. An agreement was also signed between the postal departments of the two countries to facilitate the exchange of postal items.

Both nations agreed to collaborate on agricultural development and the manufacturing of agricultural machinery. Joint efforts will also be made in the production of electric vehicles and buses, as well as in enhancing food security. Defense cooperation and business-to-business partnerships will be strengthened.

The two leaders also discussed various topics including trade, investment, and regional issues. They expressed satisfaction over the recent positive developments in the overall relationship between Pakistan and Belarus.
