Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday signed a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors including culture, trade, and consular affairs.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed two MoUs: one to promote cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Culture and Pakistan’s Culture Division, and another for the establishment of a joint committee on consular affairs.

In addition, both leaders witnessed the exchange of an MoU between the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The agreement establishes the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council, which aims to enhance trade and investment relations.

The MoU exchange was conducted by UAE Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri and FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Dar welcomed his UAE counterpart, describing the relationship between the two countries as longstanding and rooted in mutual respect and shared goals. He noted that both nations are working together for the welfare and prosperity of their peoples.

UAE deputy PM expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended during his visit, calling Pakistan a country that holds a special place in the hearts of the UAE leadership and people.

Sheikh Abdullah arrived in Pakistan on Sunday evening for a two-day official visit, according to the Foreign Office. He is also expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his stay.
