Setting goals for Pakistani women
Puja Mahato lost her wicket off the first ball of the last over. Kavita Joshi then took the initiative and hit the first six of the match. She scored nine runs in the over to post a total of 108. Pakistan Women’s team now need 109 runs to win the match.
Kavita Joshi hit two boundaries and Puja Mahato joined them in scoring 13 runs in the 19th over. Nepal Women’s team needs a big boost in the final overs to achieve a respectable target in the match.
In the 16th over, Tuba Hassan was brought into the attack and got six runs, including a boundary, off the last delivery, and in the next over, Kavita Joshi and Puja Mahato hit a boundary each to score 10 runs in the over.
Omaima Sohail came on for the third innings and Sita Rana Magar started with a double, then a boundary and a single. She went for a double off the fifth delivery of the over but was run out. She scored 26 off 30 balls.
Nepali women need to change gears
Sita Rana Magar and Puja Mahato are up to bat but they are not even looking to score a run off a single ball. A low scoring rate could have an impact later on in the match. With seven overs still to go, both the batsmen will need to take advantage of their chances against the Pakistan bowlers.
Sayeeda Alloob Shah conceded just two runs in her first over but was called back into the attack and took the wicket of Rubina Chhetri. Pooja Mahato became the new batsman in cricket.
After a double blow from Sadia Iqbal, Omaima Sohail was called back into the attack and finished the over without a run, and in the next over, Nashra Sandhu bowled and finished the over for just 2 runs.
Sadia Iqbal scores two runs in the over.
Sadia Iqbal, in her second innings, first got set batter Kavita Kunwar and then Nepal captain Indu Varma out in the same over as Nepal struggled to recover after losing three wickets in the powerplay.
Omaima Sohail was brought into the attack in the fourth innings and was dropped for 11. Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar hit a boundary each to give Nepal’s innings a great start.
Two boundaries from Kunwar
Fatima Sana took a wicket in her first over and then bowled her third over with Kavita Kunwar hitting her for two boundaries to score nine in that over.
Samujana Khadka and Sita Rana Magar started for the Nepal women’s team. Fatima Sana took the batting order for Pakistan. Sana started with three dot balls before Khadka hit a boundary line. Sana got Khadka out with the next ball, giving her team their first breakthrough.
