BALOCHISTAN: Pakistan Border Guard (FC) personnel conducted a raid in Giri area of Bureda in Balochistan and abducted two youths, Shah Jan Noor and Sadiq Noor, who are brothers, in the early hours of Sunday.

The incident was reported to X by the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB).

HRCB, a non-profit human rights organisation operating in Balochistan and Sweden, documented the incident, saying: “At 6am on June 16, FC operatives raided a house in Giri area of Breda and abducted two young brothers, Shah Jan Noor and Sadiq Noor.”

The group also alleged that affected families had begun protests outside the Frontier Corps camp but were threatened by security personnel to end their sit-ins.

Supporting these claims, another local group, the Baloch Yaqjeti Committee, also acknowledged the attacks and abductions.

They shared a video of the Frontier Corps action in X and said, “This morning, Frontier Corps personnel entered a house in Giri area of Breda and took away two young brothers named Shah Jan Noor and Sadiq Noor Baloch. Their family has been staging a sit-in in front of the Frontier Corps camp but the Frontier Corps is threatening them to stop their protest.”

The incident sparked outrage and concern among human rights groups and local communities, and highlighted the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan.

The border patrol’s actions and subsequent threats against families during protests highlight the insecurity in the region, where enforced disappearances and abductions are a regular occurrence.

As events unfold, HRCB and other human rights organizations will continue to monitor and document these cases, calling for accountability and justice for affected families in Balochistan.
